The Great Ambition: States

Well this passing night Bucksport High School's Jazz Combo team which includes: Sydnie Howard-Tenor Sax, Drew Deredin-Guitar, Doug Gavelek-Piano, Gabe Flegel-Drums, and Me on Bass, competed in the Maine State Jazz Festival Division III. We achieved a competitive score of 84, a rank of II (That means that we were two, I said two points away from achieving a rank of I!). I admit before we got on that stage and the strict timer of 25 min started I had serious butterflies in my stomach, but I lost that feeling just before we started out set. We played our best performance ever and did it show. After we had played I got many comments from other saying how well we played and a couple towards me for having a great stage presence. In the end we did not place however I am not fretting (unlike GSA who gave a collective groan after hearing they got 2nd place) I had a great time I played my heart out and I know everyone else did too. 


I'm really tired though, barely writing this post out for you but as promised I'm adding a post about...black holes. There is nothing wrong about a little bit of learning even in these posts. A black hole is a point of space where the gravity is so high not even light escapes it's attraction. (If only I had that power, maybe i wouldn't have been single for so long. Haha.) Black holes are thought to form when a star about 100 times more massive than our own sun dies and it collapses on itself. For a long time black holes were thought to not exist at all.This was because the math never added up. Even Einstein denied their existence. They were only accepted as a manifestation in our universe when we saw huge visual lensing (distortion) of galaxies...when there weren't any galaxies in the visual path.

I hope you didn't have too much trouble with that paragraph, I try to keep things short with this kind of subject (space) but it's not easy. If anyone has a suggestion of what they'd like to learn about or if they just don't like it check out the comment section below.
